YEREVAN. – Deputy director of the Caucasus institute Sergey Minasyan stated that determination of the status of Karabakh should be a priority.

This will allow providing safety guarantees to some extent, the political scientist said at a press conference on Wednesday.

According to him, based on the statements made by Baku after a meeting in Vienna it can be assumed that a new stage of escalation will be in the Karabakh conflict zone in the near future.

“The April events have strengthened the military moods in the Azerbaijani society and the leadership of the country, all they are more convinced that this issue should be resolved by force,”  Sergey Minasyan emphasized.
