YEREVAN. – The Karabakh conflict has no military solution. Human rights and the right of nations to self-determination should be in the first place, instead of regional interests and destructive ambitions.

Martin Dolzer, Hamburg Parliament deputy and member of Die Linke [(The Left)] Party of Germany, on Thursday noted the above-said at a press conference in Armenia’s capital city of Yerevan.

“The right of nations to self-determination is approved by international laws; no doubt in that,” he said. “[But] it is another matter that the issue is not covered in the case of Nagorno-Karabakh. We have a task of disseminating information about it, presenting the matter, so that people form an opinion; this is a process that we wish to advance.”

Dolzer added that Karabakh is an Armenian-populated area, and therefore it is Armenian.

“We saw an Armenian state; Armenian-populated,” Ursula “Ulla” Jelpke, Left Faction MP of the German Bundestag (parliament) and member of Die Linke Party, stated, for her part. “We believe that the problem should be resolved with the participation of all parties [to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict].”
