During the funeral of a servicemen, the leader of Turkey’s opposition Republican People’s Party, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu was pelted with eggs.

Kılıçdaroğlu attended the funeral of a Turkish serviceman killed during the clash with the Kurdish rebels, Turkish newspaper Sozcu reports. During the ceremony, a man among those gathered began to throw eggs in the direction of the party leader. 

Although the security guards interfered, the eggs hit not only Kılıçdaroğlu but also the Turkish Defense Minister İsmet Yılmaz, who was standing nearby.

Following the incident, Kılıçdaroğlu accused Mayor of Ankara Melih Gökçek of attacking him.
