YEREVAN. - Nine people affected by sudden storm sought medical assistance at Armenian medical centers Monday (photos).

As a result of the strong storm, six of the injured were taken to Astghik Medical Center. The Chief Physician of the clinic told Armenian News – NEWS.am that five of them had light scratches and returned home after receiving first aid. The sixth person suffered head trauma; the doctors are planning to examine him before discharging.

Two more persons affected by the storm were taken to Armenia Medical Center: one of them suffered slight head trauma, the other getting scratches on his forehead. Both of them received first aid, there being no need of hospitalization.

Besides, a woman born in 1933 turned to Yerevan’s Heratsi University Hospital Complex with head wound. According to her, a stone fell on her head from the roof. The woman was rendered first aid, following which she returned home.  

At about 8:30 pm, an 8-month-old baby, who had hit its head against the stroller during the storm, was brought to Heratsi Complex.  The parents first took the baby home, but then decided to turn to a doctor. There being no children’s wing at the Complex, they were directed to Surb Astvatsatsin Medical Center.

A strong wind was registered in the capital city Yerevan and in a number of communities Monday. Many roofs of the houses were torn off and trees were uprooted.
