YEREVAN. – With the decree of the President of Armenia, a total of 10,468 persons received Armenian citizenship in the year past.

Presidential Chief of Staff Vigen Sargsyan noted the abovementioned at Tuesday’s National Assembly debates on the “performance” of the 2015 State Budget of the country.

Sargsyan added that 3,156 of these 10,468 individuals were Armenians from Syria.

But 1,476 persons renounced their Armenian citizenship, in the same year.

And a total of 576 individuals were granted residency status in Armenia.
