YEREVAN. – The unexpected storm, which hit Armenia’s capital city of Yerevan on Monday afternoon, caused considerable damage to a high school in Charbakh neighborhood.

As a result of the strong winds, the rooftop of one of the school buildings was torn off, and it fell in the school yard as well as in the yards and on the roofs of the nearby houses.

School principal Gohar Antonyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am that they have informed the Ministry of Education and Science about what occurred, sent the schoolchildren back home on Tuesday morning, and suspended classes.

Even though the officers from the Ministry of Emergency Situations had reduced the risks, it is still impossible to conduct classes at the school.
