YEREVAN. - In 2015, 20 water pump stations were installed in Yerevan through the funding of European institutions, First Deputy Mayor of Yerevan Kamo Areyan stated Tuesday during the discussion at the joint session of parliamentary committees on the republic’s state budget performance for 2015.

The program supposes construction of 152 km new water supply networks, installation of 13,000 new water meters with admission pipes, as well as 30 yard water pump stations, 20 of which were installed in 2015.  

The financial agreement was signed in 2013, being composed of the $7 mln sovereign loan of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), $7 mln loan agreement with the European Investment Bank (EIB) and $7 mln grant in the framework of the European Neighborhood Investment Instrument.

As a result of implementing the project, water losses in the system should reduce by almost 30 percent.
