YEREVAN. – In 2015, the gross agricultural output in Armenia totaled 1 trillion 2 billion drams (approx. US$2,098,078).

The Minister of Agriculture, Sergo Karapetyan, stated the abovementioned at Wednesday’s parliamentary debates on the “performance” of the 2015 State Budget of the country.

In his words, this amount is 11.7 percent more than the 2014 indicator.

In addition, the gross output of crops increased by 15.2 percent while the irrigated areas—by 5.7 percent, in the year past.

Karapetyan added that the level of targeted use of arable land increased from 47 percent to 79 percent, in Armenia.
