Governor of Odessa Oblast Mikhail Saakashvili complained to The Guardian about the person who appointed him to this position, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and the new government of Ukraine.

The Guardian writes that public and very emotional attacks of Saakashvili gained popularity in the country where hopes for new type of management have begun to disapear in the background of how oligarchs regain control over policy and business. And now they are personally directed to the president.

According to Saakashvili, earlier the Ukrainian president was more flexible and was ready to work both with reformers, and with representatives of the old school. Governor of Odessa Oblast stated that now he got the government which has no idea about the reforms.

From his point of view, the present government of Ukraine is a small group of mediocrities.

On the question of whether the former  Georgian President will become an obstacle for Poroshenko amid harsh criticism, Saakashvili said that the Ukrainian president knew what he was doing.

Governor of Odessa complains about Poroshenko not for the first time. In particular, he stated at a press conference last month that none of the promises made by the current Ukrainian president after the Maidan have been fulfilled.

The Ukrainian president has been recently criticized more often, especially after the leak of so-called Panama papers that revealed Poroshenko’s connection with offshore companies. Many accuse him o abandoning the ideals of the Maidan.
