By the judgment of the Supreme Court of Azerbaijan, journalist Khadija Ismayilova, who is another victim of former National Security Minister Eldar Mahmudov and his gang, has been released from prison.

The Supreme Court on Wednesday handed down a ruling of conditional early release for Ismayilova, according to Haqqin.az news agency of Azerbaijan.

In December 2014, Khadija Ismayilova was imprisoned at the order of the former National Security Minister, and as a result of the provocation that was organized against her.

At the time, Ismayilova’s former associate Tural Mustafayev had stated that Ismayilova had led him into a state—and allegedly because of jealousy—that he had tried to commit suicide.

But Mahmudov’s “jugglers” did not exert much effort when setting up this provocation, and again showed absence of professionalism. The provocation was so poorly organized that their “favorite person” withdrew his previous testimonies, still during the investigation phase.

Also, the court was submitted no convincing evidence that Ismayilova had “driven” Mustafayev to “suicide.” Even witnesses in court stated that she had no connection with the suicide.

The Supreme Court considered the appeal of Khadija Ismayilova, and ruled for her conditional early release.
