YEREVAN. – Renowned American Armenian  poet, writer and academic Peter Balakian, who was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry in the current year, actively follows the events in Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh).

He is in Armenia’s capital city of Yerevan these days, and as reported earlier, he was among the recipients of the President of Armenia 2015 awards, on Thursday.

Balakian told Armenian News-NEWS.am that he follows the developments regarding Artsakh with the help of friends, reads the respective media news, knows that peace talks are conducted, and is hopeful that the Armenians will maintain control over Karabakh.

But the American Armenian intellectual, who has written books about Armenian Genocide, does not yet plan to write a book about the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
