The White House vetoed the supply of cluster bombs to Saudi Arabia , reports Foreign Policy magazine quoting American officials . Note that by this step Washington responds to allegations of human rights activists who accuse Riyadh of bombing the civilian population during the war in Yemen. The article says that the Saudi Arabia has acquired cluster bombs for millions of dollars in recent years. 

A senior US official, on condition of anonymity, said that the Saudi Arabia used bombs in the areas of civilian population or around those areas. "We 're serious about it, and we are going to get more information ," he said. Earlier this year, experts reported that the Saudi Arabia dropped cluster bombs over  Yemeni Sanaa. Later, the Permanent Representative of the Saudi Arabia denied the use of cluster bombs in Yemen .
