YEREVAN. – Four rappers from Martakert, Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR/Artsakh), performed for the first time in Yerevan, the capital city of Armenia.

After their concerts in Martuni and Martakert towns of Artsakh, the young rappers were planning to perform also in Stepanakert, the capital city of the NKR. But the four-day war, which Azerbaijan had unleashed against Nagorno-Karabakh in early April, did not allow these rappers to accomplish their goal.

On Sunday, however, the young rappers from Martakert were able to fulfill their other goal: performing in Yerevan. One of the surprises of the charity event that was held on that day at Northern Avenue was these rappers from Martakert, and those in attendance cheered them on with great enthusiasm.

Even though Spartak, Arsen, Erik and Valerik are individual performers, they have numerous songs together. One of them, the song devoted to Martakert, was posted on the Internet on March 1, but it became more popular after the tragic events in April.

The boys have recorded a new song, entitled “Child is our Future,” devoted to International Children’s Day, which is officially observed every year on June 1. The rappers say with this song each of them picture the children’s future, and the people of Artsakh see the future of children in peace, without casualties.

This song was performed on Sunday for the first time at Northern Avenue, and those in attendance gave their “approval” of this song by a huge round of applause.
