On June 9, 6.2 magnitude earthquake occurred off the coasts of Lombok island in Indonesia, reports RIA Novosti with a reference to the US Geological Survey.

The seismic center is located 284 kilometers south from Kuta in Bali Island and 319 km south from Mataram in Lombok island, at a depth of 29.9 km . 

There is no information on the victims or destruction . Neither tsunami threat is announced.

Indonesia is part of so-called Pacific Ring of Fire. The most active tectonic plates are located in this part of the world, one of which moves at a speed of seven centimeters a year. There are annually 6-7 thousand earthquakes above 4.0 magnitude registered here.
