Laura Efrikian is the favorite actress of many people. In 60-70s she was the wife of the countrywide famous Italian singer Gianni Morandi. Now she rarely appears on screen, mainly writing books and doing charity work in Africa, Italian newspaper Treviso Today writes.

Actress and writer Laura Ephrikian is from Treviso, born into an intelligent family. Her father, Angelo Ephrikian, was a violinist and composer.

Ephrikian started her career as a host at Rai. In 1962, she was a host at San Remo Festival together with Renato Tagliani and Victoria Lyudovizi. She also played in “The Two Gentlemen of Verona”, “The Merchant of Venice” and “Bureau”. Besides, Ephrikian started playing in musical films and telefilms.

But Laura Ephrikian is best known as the wife of Gianni Morandi. However, in 1979, their marriage suddenly broke up, leaving emptiness in the hearts of the Italians, for whom the wonderful love story ended. The earthly interests of Morandi and his constant striving for musical perfectness (his father-in-law, Angelo Ephrikian supported his decision to enter the conervatory) led to the couple’s breakup.

But after a long hiatus, in the 2000s, Ephrikian re-appeared in the TV series and films on the Italian TV. In 2007, she starred in the famous film on the Armenian Genocide, The Lark Farm, by Tavian brothers. In 2011, she also featured in the series “Things From Another World  ” by Francesco Patierno.

Now she no longer appears on screen, being quietly engaged in writing and spending her time between Italy and Africa, where she takes part in humanitarian projects.
