The NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg claims that Russia develops a military potential and strives to establish its zone of influence by means of it, writes the Bild. "Russia is trying to create its zone of influence by military means. We are considering to massively increase the NATO's military potential on the border –in the Baltic Sea, in the Arctic region, from the Black to the Mediterranean Sea area, said Stoltenberg. We have registered aggressive, unannounced maneuvers on the  Russian side. We have to counter them."

The Secretary General of the Alliance thinks that displaying strength and being ready for negotiations is the best condition for a dialogue with Russia . "It is clear that we do not want a confrontation with Russia and a new cold war," he said. "What we are doing now is of a defensive nature," said Stoltenberg. He said that the NATO is not seeking to "provoke a conflict, but instead wants to prevent it." "Military deployment in the East is an adequate response to Russia's aggressive actions," he claimed. At the same time, Stoltenberg said that the cyberattack "can be viewed as an attack on one of the alliance members," reports TASS.
