Armenian residents’ most demanded destinations for summer holidays this year are Georgia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), representatives of the country’s several tourist agencies told Armenian News – NEWS.am.
According to them, if Egypt was a leader in the field last year, this year the absolute leadership belongs to Greece.
Armenians like to spend their holidays with their families. One-week holiday in Greece (with two adults and one child) in a middle-class hotel starts with 1000 euro, this price being 1000 USD for Dubai.
The package tour includes the return ticket cost, breakfast and one-week accommodations in a four of five-star hotel.
As to UAE, Armenians prefer spending their holidays there because of affordable prices. And those who travel to Europe usually choose three-star hotels as unlike Dubai, the hotels are expensive there. For instance, one-week family holiday in Barcelona (with two adults and a child) costs 1 million 200,000 AMD, the package tour including accommodations in a hotel, breakfast and return ticket.
Italy is also popular with Armenians, but in light of the problems with visas, the residents often choose not to travel to that country.
