YEREVAN. – Armenia has several competitive edges in the information technology (IT) sector, Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan stated at Wednesday’s international conference on this sector.
Press Office of the Government of Armenia informed Armenian News-NEWS.am that in his welcoming remarks at the event, the PM noted that Armenia’s favorable investment and business climate, sufficient infrastructure, development of its domains with a potential of export expansion, and the existing competitive advantages in these domains are the main factors that make the country appealing and interesting for investors.
Abrahamyan stressed that the IT sector is one of the fastest growing sectors in Armenia’s economy, and that significant progress has been made in this domain in the country in recent years.
He added that about 70 percent of the products of Armenia-based IT companies is exported.
