The Russian President Vladimir Putin stated the necessity to take measures to strengthen security , since  the NATO intensifies aggressive rhetoric and enlarges its activities near the borders of Russia, reports Interfax.

"We do not receive any positive response.  On the contrary, the NATO intensifies its aggressive rhetoric and activities at our borders. Under these conditions, we must pay a special attention to increasing the country's defense, " said Putin at a session in Duma.

He said that Russia is ready to create a new system of collective security but noted that the West still does not perceive that initiative as positive. "We need to create a new system of collective security that will have an equal power for all the states. Russia is open to discuss  this important issue and has repeatedly announced that is ready for a dialogue, " said the Russian president.
