President of the German Bundestag, Norbert Lammert, and MP Cem Özdemir on Thursday met with the representatives of the Turkish community of Berlin. The visit took place at the invitation of the community, the Bundestag press-service reports.

During the meeting, the threats addressed to the German MPs - particularly those with Turkish roots - were touched on. The latter have been received after Bundestag adopted the resolution on the Armenian Genocide.

Norbert Lammert condemned these threats, calling them an attack on the entire parliament. He also noted that the threat to kill an MP, who expresses the voice of the people in a democratic country, and the pressure put on him thereby, mean an attack on the parliament and parliamentary democracy in Germany.
