YEREVAN. – Human Rights Defender (Ombudsman) of Armenia Arman Tatoyan on Thursday had a working meeting with Argentina’s state secretary for human rights, Claudio Avruj, and Argentine Ambassador Gonzalo Urriolabeitia.

The ombudsman’s office informed Armenian News-NEWS.am that the interlocutors discussed human rights issues, and reflected on the respective legislative and practical guarantees in Armenia and Argentina. They expressed their willingness to strengthen and broaden cooperation in this domain as well as in several other areas of mutual priority.

Tatoyan lauded Argentina’s track-record in protection of human rights, and underscored protection of human rights and strengthening of democratic values in Armenia. He also expressed his readiness to initiate joint projects and expand the cooperation domains, together with Argentine experts, in protection of human rights.
Mr. Avruj and Ambassador Urriolabeitia, for their part, expressed willingness to discuss possible cooperation areas with the Human Rights Defender of Armenia, and his staff.
