The Somali police informed that 15 were killed and 25 wounded as a result of the attack of Al-Shabaab radical Islamist group on a hotel in Mogadishu, RIA Novosti reports, citing CNN.

Most of the killed and wounded were civilians, random passers-by or customers of the nearby shops and gas station, the police said. It is also informed that the skirmish with the police is still continuing.

Earlier, the Al-Shabaab fighters claimed responsibility for the attack on Nasa-Hablod hotel. They exploded a car at the hotel's gate. The media outlets informed about casualties, but the police didn’t ascertain whether they were terrorists, policemen or hotel residents. The police managed to save people, taking them out from the back door. The fighters have taken hostages, but no information has yet been received on their number.
