YEREVAN. – The military aviation of Armenia has no problems with respect to training of staff.

Colonel Tevos Ilikchyan, Head of the Rescue and Parachute Landing Service of the Department of Aviation of the Armenian Armed Forces, on Monday noted the abovementioned at a press conference on the occasion of Aviation Day in the country.

“The military aviation staff is complemented with graduates of the aviation university,” Ilikchyan noted.

The history of the parachuting school in Armenia goes back all the way to the 1930s. In recent years, this tradition has revived in the country with the setting up of the Armenian Parachute Federation.

“The parachute is necessary to save the pilot,” he noted. “The training begins from this.”

Colonel Ilikchyan noted that all trainings are conducted in full. In his words, not solely pilots, but also border guards, rescuers, and civilians are trained in this service.

“Our specialty is multi-profile,” he stated. “To stay alive, save others, endure until help arrives.”

Tevos Ilikchyan added that even though not too many people chose this profession, the ones who choose it stay with it.
