YEREVAN. – People say that those at the first echelon of the Government of Armenia were very disappointed that, all through Pope Francis’ three-day visit to the country, they virtually were not “seen” against the backdrop of the Pope, and they were forced to deal with their immediate work: elimination of the aftermath of the flood in Artik town, wrote Irates newspaper.

“Conversely, NA [i.e. National Assembly] President Galust Grigorich [Sahakyan] ‘appeared’ quite apparently beside the Pope, and this likewise is a heated discussion topic these days within the RPA [i.e. the ruling Republican Party of Armenia] circles. 

“Many believe that a major restoration-generation change processes are expected within the RPA in the near future, including within the government, starting in September,” wrote Irates.
