A shirt stained with John Lennon's blood, which was wearing concierge Jay Hastings  who was next to the musician in the evening of the murder, was sold at auction for more than $ 41,000, The Daily Mail reported.

Lennon's murder happened outside the building Dakota in New York on December 8, 1980, he was shot by his fan Mark Chapman. Hastings was one of those who was there at the time of the murder and rushed to the help the blood-stained artist. After attempts to help the musician blood stains appeared on the shirt of the concierge.

The initial price of lot was $9,300. It is noted that Hastings had the bloody shirt in his wardrobe for more than 30 years, but he preferred not to tell anyone about it.
