A radical extremist blew himself up in Karaganda region of Kazakhstan, when the police tried to arrest him. Other six extremists were detained, reports the TASS, citing the head of the National Security Committee of Kazakhstan Vladimir Zhumakanov .

The detainees belonged to the radical stream of Islam salafizm. They were all citizens of Kazakhstan. Moreover, Zhumakanov said the arrests in Karaganda region were not connected with attacks in Aktoba. On June 12, Kazakhstan's National Security Committee reported on the arrest of all the participants of the terrorist attacks in Aktoba.

On June 10, the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev said that the terrorists of Aktoba were the descendants of the salafizm. On June 5, several groups of extremists attacked Aktoba , killing seven people and injuring 38 . On the same day, Kazakhstan's law enforcement agencies conducted an anti-terrorist operation as a result of which 13 extremist were killed. According to the official data, today 17 militants were killed.
