YEREVAN. – There is no need to be a military expert to realize the importance of maintaining ceasefire at the Karabakh conflict zone.

Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR/Artsakh) Minister of Foreign Affairs Karen Mirzoyan told the abovementioned to reporters on Thursday in Yerevan, the capital city of Armenia.

He stated this after the talk between NKR President Bako Sahakyan, and Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Chairperson-in-Office and German Minister for Foreign Affairs Frank-Walter Steinmeier, in Yerevan.

“The more stable the situation is at the line of contact, there will be that much more opportunities for the progress of constructive dialogue by diplomats,” stressed the NKR FM.

As per Mirzoyan, it is important that high-level meetings are held, and during which agreements are reached that will enable to resume negotiations.

“The Armenian side and the international community are guided by the position that the [Karabakh] conflict has no military solution; the only way is the peace talks” said the Artsakh FM. “The sooner Azerbaijan realizes this, progress will be able to be achieved that much sooner.”

In his words, however, it is still too early to speak about a new negotiation process, since there are no negotiations yet, as such.
