I think the time is approaching when Karabakh should take its place directly at the table of negotiations.

Former US Ambassador to Armenia John Evans, who is currently in the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR/Artsakh), told the aforementioned to ARTSAKHpress.

“I am not directly involved in [the] negotiation process,” said Evans.  “[But] I have great respect for [Ambassador] James Warlick [i.e. the US Co-Chair of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe’s (OSCE) Minsk Group]. I always follow the negotiation process conducted by my colleagues, including Russian Foreign Minister Mr. Lavrov, who always emphasizes that the conflict should be resolved peacefully. Under the ceasefire agreement signed in 1994, Artsakh as a full-fledged party to the negotiations; [it] also put its signature. I think the time is approaching when Karabakh should take its place directly at the table of negotiations in the same format. Only in this case conditions for progress will be provided.”

John Evans is in the NKR within the framework of a working visit by a delegation from the Children of Armenia Fund (COAF).
