An international group of scientists is developing software that will allow to control smartphones with a glance.

Researchers from German Max Planck Institute for Informatics, the University of Georgia, and Massachusetts Institute of Technology are conducting active experiments on tablets and smartphones to invest that technology .

Accordingly, the device software may determine which point the person is looking at with an accuracy of up to 1 cm on the smartphone and 1.7 cm on the notebook, reports the Daily News and Analysis.

However, the data obtained are still far from executing the tasks that are set, and now the scientists are working to determine the accuracy of the direction of the glace. In total, about 1,500 people took part in the experiments. However, the international group needs to receive experimental data of 10 thousand people to successfully complete the project. It will decrease the error ratio and will increase the accuracy of up to 0.5 cm.
