YEREVAN. – The number of Armenian holidaymakers in Turkey has decreased significantly, as compared to the year past.

Mekhak Apresyan, Head of the Tourism Department at the Ministry of Economy of Armenia, told the aforesaid to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

He noted that the drop in visits to Turkey is mainly due to the terrorist acts, which are frequently occurring there in recent times.

“There are very interesting [tourism destination] alternatives [to Turkey]; now, people are going to those destinations,” added Apresyan. “With expert assessments, as a result of discussions, it seems that visits to Turkey are decreasing year by year.”
