YEREVAN. – The “Survey for Seismic Protection” Agency of Armenia presented details on the earthquakes, which were recorded in the region within the past one week.

As per the Agency news service, a  magnitude-3 (magnitude-2.6) quake was recorded in Armenia, in the zone contiguous to Azerbaijan (Nakhichevan). It occurred on July 10, and 14 kilometers northwest of Kajaran town.

Also, a magnitude-6-7 (magnitude-4.7) tremor was registered on Tuesday in the Georgia-Armenia border area, and 13 kilometers northeast of Bavra village. It was felt in the northern part of Armenia, especially in Stepanavan and Alaverdi towns, with magnitude 4 to 5; and in Gyumri town, with magnitude 3 to 4; and also in capital city Yerevan, with magnitude 2 to 3.

These seismic activities, however, caused no casualties or damage.
