Only five of the characters of the George R.R. Martin’s "A Song of Ice and Fire” saga on which the modern series "Game of Thrones" are based will survive at the end. It is stated in the letter of 1993 which Martin sent to his publishers by fax, Christian Daily reported.

“Five central characters will make it through all three volumes, however, growing from children to adults and changing the world and themselves in the process,” Martin said in a letter.

The five key players are Tyrion Lannister, Daenerys Targaryen, and three of the children of Winterfell, Arya, Bran, and the bastard Jon Snow. It is they who will stay alive at the end of the saga.

At the same time the creators of the series, as we know, deviated from the plot of the book several times and might not follow Martin's idea, killing some of these characters or saving the life of someone else.
