Armenian citizen by the name of Arevik, 24, died in Thursday night’s terror attack in Nice, France.

Armenian News-NEWS.am has learned that the young woman was the mother of two children, and she was participating in the Bastille Day celebrations together with her children, husband, and mother-in-law.

The family lives in Nice.

A truck ploughed into crowd in high speed in downtown Nice on Thursday at around 10։30pm, during Bastille Day celebrations.

Subsequently, its driver opened fire on people before police shot him dead.

Large quantities of weapons and explosives were found in the truck.

The driver of this vehicle was a 31-year-old French and Tunisian citizen. He previously was at the focus of the police for committing theft and hooliganism. 

According to most recent reports, 84 people are dead and 18 others are in very critical condition as a result of this terror attack.

According to data by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, two Armenian citizens were among the casualties of this tragedy. The other Armenian victim was a 34-year-old woman, who has a young child.

Fr. Grigor Khachatryan, pastor of the Armenian church in Nice, for his part, told Armenian News-NEWS.am that there are three Armenians among the injured.
