YEREVAN. – A police officer was killed and two others were wounded after gunman seized a police station in Armenia’s capital city Yerevan on Sunday, National Security Service said.

Armed men seized the police station and took hostages demanding release of opposition activist Jirayr Sefilyan who was arrested nearly a month ago on charges of illegal possession of arms.

Two hostages were set free as a result of the operation.
