Five people were killed and seven were injured as a result of the illegal actions of law enforcement officers and civilians in Almaty, said the city headquarters of the fight against terrorism.

Earlier it was reported about four dead, including three police officers, Interfax reported.

The president of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev in turn called the events which took place in Almaty a terrorist attack.
