A policy based on revanchism sooner or later leads to major shocks and disasters in a country.

Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR/Artsakh) President Bako Sahakyan told the aforementioned to Lenta.ru, a Moscow-based online newspaper, when asked whether Azerbaijan can change its position regarding the NKR.

“I believe the matter here refers not only to Karabakh-Azerbaijani relations,” said the President of Artsakh. “If Azerbaijan wants to avoid such a disaster, it is just obligated to review its philosophy of state-building.”

And to the query as to what can radically change the regional layout of power, President Sahakyan responded that the South Caucasus is a very delicate and complex region.

“Major shocks in one of its areas, or attempts by third countries to change the existing layout, is fraught with cataclysms,” noted the NKR President. “For that reason, maintaining peace and stability in this region, particularly in the [Nagorno-Karabakh] conflict zone, is an important aspect of international security.”
