President Francois Hollande stated that the investigation will be made by Interior Security Service the result of which will be announced next week, RFI reported.

Right after terrorist attack that killed 84 people, local authorities criticized the Interior Ministry for the lack of security measures. According to Libération newspaper, the entrance to the pedestrian area on the Promenade des Anglais from 20:30 pm was guarded by only one car of the municipal police. National police and their vehicles were not at the site. The newspaper concluded that the police had no sufficient means to block way of the terrorist driving a 19-ton truck.

French Interior Ministry issued a statement last night dismissing the statements of Libération.  The Ministry explained that the entrance was blocked by two cars of the national police and guarded by six employees. The terrorist went round a cordon along the pavement at a high speed. Three employees began prosecution of the truck and neutralized the terrorist less than in 2 minutes.

To put the end to polemic, Interior minister Bernard Cazeneuve appointed investigation. Security measures in Nice will be estimated by Interior Security Service.
