Yerevan Criminal Investigation Department continues investigating cases of violence against police officers who were performing their duties on the evening of July 19 of 2016. One person is facing charges based on the obtained evidences.
According to the evidences obtained during the preliminary investigation , Yerevan resident H. Torosyan together with a group of people used violence against police officers , disobeying the orders of the police to maintain public order . Due to violence 6 police officers received injuries.
In combination with the evidences obtained during the investigation, H. Torosyan on July 22 has been charged under Article 316 part 2 of the Criminal Code. The investigator submitted a motion to the court, applying to use detention as a precautionary measure.
The investigation continues and is focused on finding out the persons involved. Information about the judicial decision of the criminal case will provided regularly.
