The police neutralized two unknown people, who took several hostages in a church in the suburb of Rouen, one of the hostages was killed, Reuters reported.
The incident occurred in the Normandy town of Saint-Etienne-du-Rouvray. According to preliminary data, at about 9.45 two criminals armed with knives took five hostages: a priest, two nuns and two parishioners.
The Minister of Interior Affairs of France Bernard Kaznevledt left for the scene.
