Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan reminded the EU of the debt of three billion euros, German ARD TV channel reported.
The Turkish leader has complained that the EU still had not paid to Ankara all three billion euros for reception, arrangement and keeping of migrants. He also noted that they have received only the minor amount.
He also reminded that Turkey adopted three million refugees, spending 12 billion euros. Erdogan added that they keep their promise, but Europeans do not.
Ankara and the EU agreed on the main principles of the solution of a migrant crisis at the summit in Belgium on March 18. Turkey pledged to return the refugees who have reached Europe back to its territories. In exchange, Ankara should have received three billion euros and visa-free regime for short trips for its citizens in the EU, Lenta reported.
