A number of large French media outlets do not publish photos of terrorists to prevent them to be proclaimed as " heroes ," writes La Croix. It is reported that this initiative has been supported by La Croix and Le Monde newspapers , the radio station Europe 1 , and the BFMTV. "After the terrorist attacks of Nice we will not publish photos of the killers in order to avoid possible posthumous glory," said the director  of Le Monde.

This decision has caused serious discussions among journalists . La Libération newspaper believes that publishing photos of terrorists and glorifying them is not the same thing .
