YEREVAN. - The representatives of the Fast Response Subdivision of the Armenian Human Rights Defender’s Office visited the isolation ward of the National Security Service and talked to detained activist Alec Yenikomshian and his attorney, the statement issued by the republic’s Ombudsman reads.

The head of the isolation ward was required to give relevant clarifications. Consequently, Yenikomshian, who is blind, was handed his talking watch. The opportunity to receive and transfer was provided. Besides, a chair and radio were placed in the ward.

Following this, a procedure to consider the issue was launched upon the Ombudsman’s decision. Clarifications have been requested regarding Yenikomshian’s prosecution and the conditions he is kept in.

Earlier, Yenikomshian’s attorney stated that his client is deprived of basic living conditions in the ward.

Yenikomshian is suspected of assisting the armed group which has seized the Erebuni police stations since July 17.
