YEREVAN. - Member of the Anti-crisis Council Albert Baghdasaryan was detained from Yerevan’s Baghramyan Avenue Friday, Anti-crisis Council member Davit Sanasaryan told Armenian News – NEWS.am.

Baghdasaryan is now in the Arabkir department of Armenian police.

As reported earlier, member of Sasna Tsrer armed group seizing Erebuni police station, Arayik Khandoyan, also known as “Lonely Wolf”, was wounded Friday.

A group of armed men stormed into a Yerevan police patrol regiment, on early morning on July 17, and took several police officers hostage. Deputy regiment commander Artur Vanoyan was killed, and four other officers of the law plus one of the attackers were wounded during the ensuing gunfire exchange. On Saturday the hostages were released. The gunmen demanded the release of Jirair Sefilian, an imprisoned opposition activist.

According to the police, one policeman and Sasna Tsrer members Ashot Petrosyan and Hovhannes Harutyunyan were wounded during a shootout between the police and the armed group on Tuesday. They were taken to hospital.

According to another statement issued by the police, Sasna Tsrer members Pavlik Manukyan and his son Aram Manukyan were wounded during a shootout on Wednesday. In addition, the law enforcement officers detained armed group members Aram Hakobyan and Gagik Yeghiazaryan.
