The Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan met with the US Ambassador Richard Mills and the newly appointed head of the USAID Deborah Grieser.

The Prime Minister stressed the importance of the US government’s support provided during the past years to Armenia and the Armenian people as well as implementation of the USAID programs in the different areas of our country. The Prime Minister said that the government is ready to discuss the possibility of implementing new joint projects with the United States, noting that there are a number of programs that are being successfully realized.

Mills stressed the importance of cooperation with the Armenian Government to the benefit of Armenia's economic development, and importance to strengthen ties in trade and investment between two countries. The ambassador highlighted the USAID's programs in tourism and agriculture and noted that there are currently considered new components and proposals to be included in those areas.

Stressing the importance of the US aid , Hovik Abrahamyan noted that the Armenian government is taking active steps to achieve substantial progress in those areas .
