YEREVAN. - Deputy Chairman of Armenia’s Heritage Party Armen Martirosyan considers the charges brought against him and other party members as absurd.

Martirosyan told the aforementioned to Armenian News – NEWS.am correspondent after being set free from Nubarashen criminal-executive institution.

In his words, he isn’t familiar with the policemen’s testimony against him.  “At the questioning I wrote that in the same manner I could be charged with Kennedy’s assassination,” Martirosyan said.

He also stressed that the persecution against him and his colleagues is a political one, but this will not impact their future activity.

“I think that Armenia should become a country where politicians shouldn’t risk ending up behind the bars for their political views,” he stated.
