YEREVAN. – Armenian News-NEWS.am has learned from the news service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia that a dead man’s body was seen Thursday evening, in a canal in capital city Yerevan.
Rescuers, together with the Sevan-Hrazdan-Jrar irrigation water supply company workers, searched a 12-km section, but they did not find the body.
Search operations resumed on Friday at 6am, but again to no avail.
At 7:23 am, information was received that a bus, with M. S. (born in 1948) behind the steering wheel, was seen Thursday not far from the canal, but there is no information on the driver.
Arrangement was made with the aforesaid irrigation water supply company that the flow of water in the canal be stopped as of 9am.
