On August 20 the Migrant Offshore Aid Station's ship took 304 refugees as well as five migrants’ bodies who drowned in the Mediterranean Sea to the Trapani port of Sicily, reports the TASS citing Rai News 24 .

According to eyewitnesses , the tragedy took place approximately 22 nautical miles from the Libyan coast . One of the boats which had 27 people on board, supposedly Syrians, turned over in the open sea , due to which five drowned , including two children. There are 304 refugees among the rescued, about Syrian migrants from African countries - Nigeria , Sudan, and Ghana.
