YEREVAN. - The subsequent meeting of the Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) Development Council took place in the Armenian Government on Friday. It was presided by the Armenian PM Hovik Abrahamyan.

After summing up the results of the previous meeting and the reports on the implementation of the instructions given, the Council went on to discuss other issues on the agenda.  Specifically, issues on providing country of origin certificates of goods produced in Armenia in the framework of state procurements, a number of draft Tax Code provisions related to the SME, problems in the purchaser-supplier chain and giving priority to the Armenian goods in trade centers were discussed.

An exchange of views took place, a number of remarks and proposals being made. Summing up the discussion, the PM instructed to thoroughly examine and additionally discuss the issues within the work groups consisting of the representatives of agencies concerned and present the results to the Council.

The candidacy of the Vice President of SME Cooperation Association NGO, Samson Grigoryan, as a new member of the SME Development Council was approved. The proposal to include the Executive Director of the Union of Armenian Manufacturers and Businessmen Eduard Kirakosyan and Executive Director of European Business Association (EBA) Diana Sarumova without voting right was approved as well.
