Curfew has been lifted, as of Saturday, in several districts of primarily Kurdish-populated Diyarbakır city of Turkey.

The Diyarbakır Provincial Hall announced that curfew has been lifted in six districts of the city’s Sur region, but it still will be in place in some other districts, according to Birgün daily of Turkey.

It is noted that the objective for declaring this curfew is to be able to fight against Kurdish militants.
