Russian citizen Sergey Mironov, 30, was detained in Yerevan airport on Friday. The man, who has been put on the international wanted list upon the request of the U.S., is suspected of “being an IT specialist in the sphere of arms traffic”, Life reports.

According to a source in the Armenian law enforcement authorities, the court in Yerevan will decide the issue on his extradition to the U.S.

At the moment of detention, Mironov was with his wife. The latter informed the representatives of the Russian Embassy in Armenia that her husband was detained in the airport, following which the Embassy representatives arrived at the airport. It is also known that the U.S. authorities have been informed about the detention of Sergey Mironov upon their request.

Mironov’s family has already hired an attorney. Now he is being questioned at the National Security Service in Yerevan.
